Apple has taken a significant step in the production of the iPhone 16 by starting assembly in Brazil for the first time. According to documents submitted to the Brazilian government, the company’s production partner Foxconn is assembling the standard iPhone 16 model at its factory in São Paulo.
iPhone 16 Production Begins in Brazil
It’s important to note that iPhone assembly had previously taken place in Brazil. However, this decision marks the first time a full iPhone series will be produced in the country from launch.
India is also playing an increasingly important role in Apple’s production strategy. Foxconn’s factory in India will assemble the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max models simultaneously with production in China. Last year, India took its first steps in this area by producing the iPhone 15 and 15 Plus models.
Apple’s strategy to diversify production across different countries reflects its goal to reduce dependence on China. Vietnam is also among the countries where Apple manufactures.
On the other hand, pre-order numbers for the iPhone 16 Pro models have fallen below expectations. Specifically, pre-orders for the iPhone 16 Pro Max decreased by 16% compared to the iPhone 15 Pro Max, while the drop for the iPhone 16 Pro was even steeper at 27%.
In our country, however, a different picture is emerging. According to Apple’s website, the earliest deliveries for the Pro family are expected in 5-6 weeks, meaning many users will have to wait a long time for their Pro or Pro Max devices.
